2. What data we collect

When you make a purchase:

  • Name and email address — provided during checkout for order fulfilment and delivery of your download link
  • Billing address — collected by Stripe for payment processing
  • Payment information — processed entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your card details

When you sign up for the free geopolitics guide:

  • First name and email address — used to send you the free guide and follow-up emails about our products. You must actively tick a consent checkbox to submit the form. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
  • Consent record — we store a record of your consent including the date, time, and the page on which you signed up
  • IP address — retained briefly by our hosting provider (Netlify) as part of standard server logs

Website analytics and advertising:

  • Google Analytics 4 — collects anonymised usage data (pages visited, time on site, general geographic region) to help us improve our website. Processed by Google in accordance with their Privacy Policy.
  • Meta Pixel (Facebook Pixel) — measures advertising effectiveness and enables relevant ads for site visitors. You can opt out via your Facebook ad preferences.

Email engagement tracking:

  • When you click a link in our emails, our email provider (Resend) may record your IP address and browser information to help us understand email engagement.

3. How we use your data

  • Order fulfilment — to deliver your purchase and download link (legal basis: contract performance)
  • Customer support — to respond to enquiries about your order (legal basis: contract performance)
  • Email marketing — if you have opted in, to send you the free guide you requested and follow-up emails about our products and content. You can unsubscribe at any time (legal basis: consent). We do not send marketing emails to customers who have not opted in.
  • Advertising measurement — to measure the effectiveness of our advertising via the Meta Pixel (legal basis: legitimate interests)
  • Legal obligations — to maintain financial records as required by HMRC (legal basis: legal obligation)

We will never sell or share your personal data with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Transaction records are retained for 6 years as required by HMRC. Email addresses collected through purchases are retained for the same period.

Email subscriber data (collected through the free guide opt-in) is retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by contacting [email protected].

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Request erasure of your personal data (where no legal obligation requires retention)

We use HTTPS encryption for all pages. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe, a PCI Level 1 certified payment processor. We do not store sensitive payment information on our servers.
